How to Choose a Cosplay Size and Plan for Your Event

A costume can look right in a photo and still be the wrong choice for your measurements or event date. Before ordering, check three separate things: the exact size chart, the pieces included in your chosen option, and preparation plus delivery time. This guide explains how to use the information on Lionrocktoys product pages without relying on a universal size conversion.

1. Start with the exact outfit and option

Open the product page for the outfit you want, then check the size chart linked or shown in its photos. A size chart for another character or supplier is not interchangeable. Children’s, women’s and men’s labels can also use different systems.

Read what the chart measures. A chart may describe body measurements or measurements of the finished garment; those values mean different things. Follow the labels on that product’s chart. If the chart does not make the basis clear, ask us before choosing a size.

2. Compare measurements, not just the letter size

Check the measurements requested on the listing, such as height, chest or bust, waist and hips. Record the units with each value. Do not compare a measurement in inches with a chart in centimetres, or assume a familiar L will fit the same way in another outfit.

If your measurements fall across different sizes, send the product name, your measurements and any fit preference through our contact page. We can review the information before you place an order. Avoid choosing a size simply because a general online conversion says to go one or two sizes up.

Custom sizing is available only where the individual product and maker can support it. Check with us before selecting a custom option; do not assume every outfit can be made to measure.

3. Check the included pieces line by line

Product photos can show a completed look with accessories that are not part of the order. Read the contents list for your selected option, especially for wigs, hats, shoes, socks, props and bags.

  • The Gojo Satoru set lists a jacket, trousers, white wig, blindfold and sunglasses.
  • The Haruhi Suzumiya summer uniform lists a sailor top, skirt, ribbon bow, headband and armband. The wig, socks, shoes, megaphone and school bag are not included.

Use these as examples of how the sets differ, not a standard contents list for every costume. The selected product page is the place to check your order.

4. Count preparation and delivery separately

Preparation is the time before dispatch. Transit starts after the parcel is dispatched. A short transit estimate does not include the time needed to prepare a made-to-order product.

Our Shipping Policy states that in-stock items are normally packed and dispatched within 5–7 business days. Typical transit to the US, UK, Europe and Australia is then a further 7–15 business days. These are estimates, and remote destinations, customs and busy periods can add time.

Some products have their own preparation time, which takes priority over the general in-stock estimate. The Haruhi uniform page states 14–21 days before dispatch. The HUNK helmet and mask page states 10–14 calendar days before dispatch, with delivery additional. Calendar days and business days are not interchangeable.

If you have a convention, photoshoot or gift deadline, contact us with the exact product, destination country and date before ordering. An estimated delivery window is not a guaranteed arrival date.

5. Read the return terms before ordering

Check our Returns & Refunds Policy as part of choosing an outfit. Eligible unused items have a 14-day return-request window after delivery; made-to-order and custom items have change-of-mind exclusions. Damaged, faulty or wrong items are handled separately under the policy.

Confirming measurements and the contents before ordering is especially useful for a custom or made-to-order item. If a detail you need is missing from the listing, ask us to check rather than making an assumption.

A quick checklist before checkout

  • I checked the size chart for this exact product and selected option.
  • I know whether the chart describes body or garment measurements, and I matched the units.
  • I checked which wig, shoes, props and accessories are included or excluded.
  • I allowed for the product’s preparation time plus delivery.
  • I read the return terms for the item I am choosing.
